What Little Girls Dreams Are Made Of ...

The Featured Wedding of
Cheryl & David

Historic Whitehall Estate
June 9, 2007

The Historic Whitehall Estate in Blumont, Virginia rests among rolling farmland and distant mountains and created the perfect complimentary backdrop for the bride who was born and raised in Virginia with big dreamt in pink of a traditional debutant-like wedding surrounded by friends, family, and tradition. To obtain the look and feel of a very classic and traditional Martha Stewart-like wedding palette including classic wedding hues, flowers, décor, and elements were selected for the ceremony and reception of Cheryl and David.

On June 9, 2007 Cheryl's dream wedding commenced as 200 guests were transported from their hotels to Historic Whitehall Estate in Virginia. Raspberry lemonade was butler passed to guests upon arrival to cool off in the early summer heat. As the clock struck 5:30pm the strings began Pachabel's Canon in D and Cheryl's grand entrance could be seen by all in the distance. The "Ohhs" and "Awws" were abundant as a horse drawn carriage made its way to the ceremony site down a long county road in front of the Estate's grounds. This, the grand entrance that Cheryl had dreamt of since childhood, built excitement by all, especially David, the groom. After being assisted out of the carriage by her brother, the Wedding March began and Cheryl began her processional down the aisle on a custom made aisle runner showing off her stunning traditional ivory gown with pink sash and bouquet adorned with light pink roses, stephanotis, and pearl inlays.

The ceremony site was complete with hanging programs from white garden chairs, petal toss baskets, and strands of hanging pink and white orchids that serving as the backdrop of the ceremony site -- adding a modern Preston Bailey flair. As the touching ceremony came to a close and they were pronounced husband and wife, Cheryl and David were showered with pink and white rose petals as they retreated to the horse drawn carriage for a private ride down the same country road which she road in on at the beginning of the ceremony.

Following the ceremony guests enjoyed passed and stationed hors o'douevres on the porches of the Estate while children played on the outdoor swing and enjoyed their own horse drawn carriage rides around the grounds. Classic string music set the ambiance for guests as wedding party pictures could be seen taking place in the distance.

As guests entered the reception, they were welcomes with classic chic tabletops and traditional décor. High and low centerpieces of roses and orchids graced round guest dining tables. The table tops were a little girls dream of light pink linens with a beautiful sheer ivory overlay. The place settings were ivory with golden rim accents that glowed in the abundant candlelight and dim crystal chandeliers. Custom menus, table numbers, and pink and brown M&M favors in custom envelopes with accent ribbon added finishing touches to the dining tables.

Every little girl dreams of ice cream and cake. Cheryl was no different. Her wedding cake was designed with her vision and "tastes" in mind. The four tier ice cream sundae flavored beauty incorporated Cheryl's light pink and brown color scheme while adding a classic element of satin ribbon and lace detailing. That was not all for dessert; however. Following with the southern tradition of having a chocolate groom's cake, Cheryl worked with nationally recognized Fancy Cakes by Leslie (as seen on the Food Network) to create a cake version of David's dream car, a blue M3, for his special cake.

At a night of celebration and dancing, Cheryl's fairytale wedding came to a close as she and David made their way to a classic black 1941 Cadillac get-away car through the side yard of the Estate amid hundreds of gold sparklers and energized guests bidding adieu and fond wishes to them the entire length. As the car drove away, the love and joy shared between Cheryl and David was evident by all though the back window of the classic car where they shared a kiss for all to see...
